Welcome to the Brentwood CAC

The Community Advisory Committee is a forward-thinking, productive body that advises the Board of Education and works in partnership with the District and community toward: greater awareness of special needs issues;
  • continuous improvement of special education processes and programs;
  • and improved outcomes for all students;
  • support of the special education local plan.

The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is composed of parents of students within the district; and our goal is to include special education and general education classroom teachers, other school district personnel, and persons concerned with services for individuals with exceptional needs.  A majority of parents on this committee have children in special education.

Persons interested in becoming a member or who would like more information should contact Brentwood CAC Member Resources, Paige at (925) 642-5437.

CAC’s Purpose:   The CAC provides school districts with input on the development and implementation of the Local Plan for Special Education.  It also serves as a forum for addressing the needs of all students with disabilities.  It encourages meaningful communication among school administrators, the Boards of Education, parents, and communities.

Community Advisory Committee for Special Education:  The CAC, mandated by California law, serves to maintain an ongoing interaction between educators and parents and to advise the District on the development of its Special Education Local Plan Area's (SELPA) Local Plan, Annual Services, and Budget Plans.  The CAC holds monthly informational and training meetings open to parents and staff from the Local and surrounding Districts.  These meetings are a forum for a mutual exchange of information.  For more information on upcoming meeting dates, please click on the Events tab or call Brentwood CAC Member Resources, Paige, at 925 642-5437.
